- 2 tbsp ghee or oil
- 1/4 cup cashews
- 1/2 cup yoghurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- as needed Salt
- 1 tsp cumin or jeera
- 1 star anise or chakri phool
- 6 green cardamoms or elaichi
- 2 strands mace or javithri
- 1 small piece nutmeg or jaiphal
- 6 cloves laung
- Little Stone flower (dagad phool)
- 1 bay leaf or tej patta
- 2 inches cinnamon stick or dalchini
- Handful mint
- 2 medium tomatoes chopped
Steps to make to make Raw Green Chana biryani
- Wash and soak rice for at least 30 mins.
- Slice the onions Slit the green chillies. Make the ginger garlic paste.
- Heat ghee or oil in a cooker. Saute cashews than onions slices. When they turn golden set them aside.
- Then add cumin, cardamoms, mace, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, stone flower, bay leaf and star anise. Saute them for a minute.Add chilli,onions and fry until golden.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw smell goes off.Add tomato sauté it then add curd Saute pudina or mint for 2 mins. Next add green Chana and Saute for 4 minutes.Take aside.
- Take cooker add rice 1 teaspoon ghee clove, bay leaf green cardamom Pour water and add lemon juice,salt. Stir well and Pressure cooker, cover the lid and cook on a low heat for 70 percent cook the rice.
- Take cooker layered with raw green chana masala than rice than golden brown onion mint leaves than coriander leaves dum for 5/7 minutes in low heat then Serve hot.
