- 2 cups boiled basmati rice
- 1 big boiled potato
- 1 medium onion
- 1 medium red tomato
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 " piece cinnamon stick
- 3-4 pieces cloves
- 5-6 pieces black peppercorns
- 1 piece star anise
- 1 piece bay leaf
- 1-2 dry red chillies
- 1 stalk curry leaves
- 1 tbsp roasted peanuts
- 1 piece spicy green chillies finely chopped
- 1 " piece ginger grated
- 1/4 tsp tumeric powder
- 1 tsp red kashmiri chilli powder
- 1 tsp dhania jeera powder
- 1 tbsp dabeli masala
- Salt to taste as required
- Fresh curd to serve as required
Instructions to make to make Khari Bhaat
- Peel and chopped boiled potato. Peel and chopped onion into long slices. Chopped tomato. Keep all required ingredients ready.
- In cooking pan add heat ghee. Add cummin seeds as splutter add cloves, cinnamon stick,peppercorns, bay leaf, star anise,dry red kashmiri chilli and saute for 30 seconds.
- Add chopped green chillies, grated ginger, curry leaves and onion slices, roasted peanuts. Saute for 2 minutes.
- Add chopped boiled potato, tumeric powder, red kashmiri chilli powder, dhania jeera powder, salt. Mix well.
- Add chopped tomatoes, Kutch dabeli masala paste (dissolved in 1 tbsp water to make paste), mix well.
- Add boiled basmati rice and mix gently. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve Delicious Khari Bhaat with Fresh curd in Lunch Box.
